The Kavath Kati Tussar Silk dupatta is a traditional handwoven dupatta from the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. What makes it unique is that the entire process—from cocoon breeding to silk thread weaving—is done by local communities. The dupatta's border has intricate temple-like designs, inspired by the beautiful carvings of Ramtek Temple near Bhandara. Using a three-shuttle weaving technique, the body is made with pure hand-reeled Tussar silk, while the border is woven with strong mercerized cotton. Woven on a pit loom with a Nagpuri wooden dobby, each dupatta features distinct temple motifs that reflect rich cultural heritage.
