The Saura tribe, one of the oldest indigenous communities in southern Odisha, is deeply rooted in nature. Their art, known as Saura painting, beautifully reflects this connection through simple yet evocative depictions of everyday village life.

Traditionally, these paintings adorned the mud walls of village homes, serving both decorative and spiritual purposes. Today, Saura art has found expression on diverse mediums—from sarees to home décor items—while preserving its traditional motifs and symbolism.

This particular piece, crafted by Kalaniketan, is painted on silk fabric using natural colors, carrying forward the legacy of Saura art in a contemporary form.
