The Saura tribe is one of the oldest indigenous communities residing in the southern districts of Odisha. Deeply connected with nature, the Saura people express their love for the natural world through their distinctive paintings, which depict simple scenes from everyday village life.

Traditionally, Saura paintings were created on the walls of village homes, using natural dyes and symbolic motifs. Today, this ancient art form has found new life on textiles such as sarees, as well as various home décor items.
