Pithora art is a unique & beautiful tribal painting art that began over 3000 years ago and has been deeply rooted in the Rathwa tribal community for centuries. These paintings are traditionally created as offerings to Pithora Baba, the God of food grains, to seek blessings and connect with the divine. Natural colors made from leaves, flowers, and forest produce are mixed with milk and painted using bamboo sticks, cotton, and wooden stencils. This art form is mainly practiced by male artists. Unlike other artistic tribes like Warli, the Pithora painters are male-dominated.
